As an operator of bouncy castles and inflatables, it is imperative that the commercially hired equipment is safe for use by members of the public. At Bounce Back Castles we have offered PIPA inspections for a number of years now, as well as testing under the own brand BS EN 14960:2019 standard.

Increasingly, it appears that it will be difficult for operators to hire their inflatables and bouncy castles out to village halls, schools, councils and many other potential customers, without being able to offer proof that the bouncy castle/inflatable has had either its PIPA inspection, or appropriate inspection and BS EN 14960. This is a welcome development in our opinion, it makes it difficult for more scrupulous operators to hire out their equipment, which if not tested could be unsafe for public use.

As of October 2023, PIPA inspections can now be completed on Non-Ride On Games. What are Non-Ride On Games we hear you ask? Items such as Penalty Shootouts, Inflatable Cactus Lasso's, Nerf Shootout's, Axe Throwing, Whack-a-Peg and other inflatable games that you do not get into, onto or inside of the inflatable. This excludes items such as Gladiator Duel's, Bungee Run's, Pillow Bash's etc, although it should be stated that under HSE Puwer Legislation, these items still need to be inspected on an annual basis, they just cannot be done under a PIPA inspection.

How much does a bouncy castle inspection cost?

As an initial inspection, on a standard 15x12 bouncy castle, the price would be £85.00 inc VAT and the PIPA tag. Depending on whether travel is needed, this can increase the cost.
